Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”
CREC president ZHANG Zongyan, vice-president REN Hongpeng and the delegation visited Myanmar to promote China-Myanmar Railway Passage Project (hereinafter abbreviated as "the Passage Project") from March 21st to 22nd, 2019.
ZHANG and his delegation met with Minister of Transport and Communications U Thant Sin Maung in Naypyitaw, Myanmar, on the morning of March 21st. During the talks, ZHANG introduced the profile of CREC, the overall development planning of participation in Myanmar railway construction and progress of the Passage Project. He hoped to push forward the construction of Muse-Mandalay Railway to benefit local people through the opportunity of the coming Belt and Road International Cooperation Forum II held in Beijing.

Minister U Thant spoke highly of CREC’s contributions to Myanmar. He had an in-depth communication with CREC delegation on the Passage Project and agreed to further promote the win-win cooperation during the Forum.
ZHANG also met with Minister of Planning and Finance U Kyaw Win in the afternoon. In the talks, he expected to explore the investment and financing model of the Project during the Forum and showed CREC's willingness to cooperate wih local enterprises and participate in Myanmar's infrastructure construction and livelihood projects.

Minister U Kyaw Win welcomed ZHANG’s visit. He said he himself supports the suggestion to submit Study on the Technical Feasibility of Muse-Mandalay Railway during the Forum. He recognized the strength of CREC and expected to strengthen communication and cooperation of both sides.
