From the vast East China Sea to the lofty Tianshan Mountains, from subtropical Hainan Island to snowy northlands, from China to the world, numerous magnificent bridges built by various bridge design and construction arms of CREC testify to the constructors’ unswerving pursuit of self-reliance and independent innovation as well as their tireless efforts to develop China into a world leader in bridge construction.
MBEC pioneers China’s innovation in bridge construction technology. It has contributed more than 90 percent of the country’s independently developed technologies for bridge construction, and created 40 percent of all world records in bridge construction, winning Chinese bridges global fame.
CREC is hailed as the cradle of Chinese bridge engineers. As of the beginning of 2022, it had cultivated four academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, seven engineering surveyand design masters, and over 30 national-level experts.
CREC represents the highest level of China’s bridge design. By the beginning of 2022, it had won 23 national awards for scientific and technological progress, 19 international bridge awards, and over 200 provincial/ministerial-level prizes. Furthermore, all of the seven bridge projects listed among the “100 Classic Engineering Masterpieces” of the 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) build by CREC.
Across more than seven decades, generations of CREC employees have always stayed true to their original aspirations and kept in mind their missions, creating world records in bridge design and construction. They have realized the leapfrog development of Chinese bridges towards “l(fā)ong span, light weight, high sturdiness, and holistic design,” showing the world the firm faith and strong courage of Chinese bridge constructors while writing brilliant chapters one after another in the world history of bridge construction.
