Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”
The 2021 International Bridge Conference (IBC) awards review was recently completed, and three bridges from China won awards. Among them, the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge won the George Richardson Medal, Pingtang Bridge on the Pingtang-Luodian Expressway won the Gustav Lindenthal Medal, and Cuijiaying Hanjiang Bridge on the Wuhan-Shiyan Railway won the Railway Bridge Award. CREC subsidiaries participated in the design and construction of all the three bridges.

The IBC is an academic conference sponsored by the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania, with extensive clout in the global bridge community. Established in 1988, the IBC is held annually and is hailed as the “Nobel Prize” in the bridge industry. Among its seven awards, the George Richardson Medal is the earliest and most influential award for latest bridge projects with outstanding achievements in design, construction and scientific research; the Gustav Lindenthal Medal is granted to bridges excellent in environmental friendliness, aesthetics, and social participation; and the Railway Bridge Award is for outstanding railway bridge projects.
