On September 13, China Railway Guangzhou Engineering Group, a subsidiary of CREC, completed the closure of the Zengjiang Bridge in Guangshan high-speed railway, the main traffic artery of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The bridge is the first high-speed railway cable-stayed bridge in the world to adopt a large-span segmental precast concrete girder and also the first high-speed railway bridge in the world to adopt a large-span segmental precast glue assembly method.

The Guangzhou-Shantou high-speed railway line, with a total length of about 369 kilometers, is an essential part of the "five vertical and two horizontal" high-speed railway backbone network in Guangdong Province. Zengjiang Bridge is the control project of the whole line. It is a concrete cable-stayed bridge with double towers and double cable planes, with a total length of 2569.48 meters. The main span is 260 meters across the Zengjiang River. The main tower is an H-shaped tower with a height of 100 meters.

The builders of the bridge have created four highlights in the construction. Firstly, the segmental beams are ingeniously prefabricated by the symmetrical short-line method. Secondly, for the first time in the world, large-span segmental precast concrete beams are used to construct high-speed railway cable-stayed bridges, and the large-span segmental precast glue splicing method is used to build high-speed railway bridges. Finally, the segmental beam erection adopts the asymmetric synchronous erection construction of the side and middle span, which shortens the construction period by 45 days.
