Main Bridge of Cross-sea Rail Bridge with the Highest Design Speed in China Sees a Closure
The main bridge of Quanzhou Bay Bridge, part of China’s first sea-crossing high-speed railway connecting Fuzhou and Xiamen of Fujian Province, closed on August 6. The construction was supervised by the China Railway Major Bridge Reconnaissance & Design Institute Co., Ltd.
The total length of the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway is 277.42 kilometers, and the designed speed is 350 km/h. The Quanzhou Bay Bridge, a key project along the railway, measures 20.287 kilometers in length, with the section over sea reaching 8.96 kilometers, the main bridge 800 meters and the main span 400 meters. The semi-floating cable-stayed bridge with double towers and cable planes is a high-speed railway bridge with the highest design speed in China.
