Anthem of CREC—“Trailbreaker”
The National Ski Jumping Center, built by China Railway Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd., has caused a sensation across social media platforms overseas as Olympians from various countries are making posts about the competition venue. Located in the Zhangjiakou competition zone of the Beijing 2022, the venue is nicknamed “Snow Ruyi” as the architectural design resembles a “ruyi” scepter, a traditional Chinese ceremonial object.
On February 7, Anna Hoffmann, a 21-year-old ski jumper from the United States, posted a video on the venue on TikTok. “Crazy to be ski jumping next to the great wall!” She posted with the video, which garnered more than 200,000 likes.
Together with the World Cultural Heritage Great Wall in the background, “Snow Ruyi” creates a beautiful memory for Olympians across the world and offers them a sip of the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.
It is the first ski jumping venue in the world that to include a large-scale overhanging structure at the mountain-top departure area. The entire facility has a “peak club,” a grandstand at the hill foot and ski track. At Beijing 2022, it staged the ski jumping and Nordic combined events. Olympians competed for eight gold medals at the venue.
